All you need to do is grab a pair of plyers and separate the non-biodegradable nylon bristles from the biodegradable bamboo handle. Unfortunately, the nylon - 6 bristles go straight to a landfill since they cannot be recycled, while the bamboo handle can be repurposed or thrown into the compost.
